“But let justice run down like water, And righteousness
like a mighty stream.” ~ Amos 5:24 ~
We often think of righteousness as a sweet, gentle spirit from the Lord. While I believe it can be, sometimes we need to see His righteousness in us the way this verse is describing it.
Imagine an unjust situation in your life being entirely covered by God's justice - completely soaking wet, no part left dry and untouched. Think of a mighty stream that is strong and powerful in sound and force, overpowering anything in its way.
Wouldn't it make your situation look and feel totally different to see it with God’s mighty justice and righteousness all over it?
This verse paints such a beautiful image of God’s promise to us. We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. With Him, we are able to command mountains to be removed from our lives.
My prayer for you is that you learn to seize each day. Take your victory because it belongs to you, call in your blessings, and allow His justice to cover all areas of your life. Join me in this prayer over your life this week.
Father, thank You for Your word. Thank You that justice covers every area of my life. I want to feel Your justice in every situation. I want to experience the force of a mighty stream of righteousness in my life today. Cover me with Your peace and Your joy as my life today is renewed by Your justice and Your righteousness. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
